My Fender Rosewood Tele needed some upgrades. At first I wanted to keep an authentic look, but decided to give these pickups a shot. Sometimes you can feel superior quality just by handling an item. These felt special right out of the box. If Danny Gatton was involved in every step of their development, how could they not be a cut above? His input was very obvious when I started playing. Not only is their tone perfectly balanced, but there is ZERO noise. Nada. The outstanding results were worth every penny. Adding the Barden bridge plate just made the guitar that much more exceptional. Expect future orders, Frank!
These pups are truly amazing. Authentic Ricky tone and no noise. My 4003 was nothing more than wall art for years. Too much hum and noise made it useless in the studio and a pin in the butt for my tech and our sound crew on stage. JBE R4000 set have resurrected my 4003 and it sounds even better than my 78 jetglow. Thnx JBE!!!
It's been almost a year since installing a white set of Nashville Modern T pickups in a white Tele. (a cool option and they're gorgeous) I've got 2 other Nash. Teles with other well known pickups installed. The JBEs have more everything to my ear. Playing nuances are more discernible and I love the fidelity. The chime from the neck/middle position is really superior and I find I use it more than the bridge/middle setting.
After putting A JBE set into my Rickenbacker bass (outstanding replacement), I was inspired to put this P/J set in a new semi custom fretless build. They sound phenomenal and have quite a broad tonal range depending on your setting. My only complaint is that the sides of the pickups are open and vulnerable to sweat and aren’t the most comfortable rest for a thumb. This great pickup set could be improved.
All I can say is, "WOW". I was skeptical, but these JBE Jazzmaster Two/Tone pickups do exactly what they're advertised to do: in humbucking mode, they're nice and toasty, and overdrive SO nicely. Split the coils, and you have classic Jazzmaster tone. But with one huge improvement: *NO* noise. I can't say enough, and will recommend JBE until the end of time.
. Man oh man I love these pickups. Had an ole friend stop by. Had my Tele straight in to my '63 Vibroverb (my workhorse). Handed him the guitar. He played for five or six minutes. Looks over at me with the biggest smile. Why would you need anything else. Uh huh...I said. Twangalisious. A very grateful owner.
After years bonding with the Gatton pickups on a Tele, I decided to put together a Warmoth tele style, but using HB Two/Tones. I was hoping to get the classic tele sound and also the ability to get PAF sounds at the push of a switch. These pickups can do this with NO compromise. I’ve tried other coil splitting humbuckers and the split tones have always been less than satisfying. This being my first build, and being that each two/tone has 6 conductors I was pretty confused as a first timer. Let me say that Frank was amazing in walking me through this. He was patient and generous with his time and encouraged me through this project. I had many questions along the way and he took the time to reply very thoughtfully and specific to my build. I wanted to learn how to do this and was glad I didn’t get the “just bring it to a guitar tech” response. Also thanks to Frank. My knowledge is now deeper and I’ll be more self sufficient next time. Couldn’t be happier with the results. Thank you!
I've tried most of the noiseless SC sized offerings out there and thought I finally found what I was looking for in the Kinmans. Rather than wait 3 weeks again on a set of Kinmans from the Philippines, and deal with all the online hassle of dealing with them (another story), I decided to go with JBE for my Tyler S-style. I'd already heard so much about them and appreciated the different design. Plus, I can get them here in the USA with ease. To my ears, these easily beat out any of the Kinman Strat offerings I've tried up to Kinman Big 9-O.
The JBE's are clean & glassy-clear, yet tight, punchy, ballsy, without being to dark or strident. Still very "Stratty" on the in between positions, plenty of bark and bite in the middle & bridge positions. ALL DEAD SILENT-NO HUM!!!!!!!
Goodbye Kinmans, hello JBE!
Accept no substitutes. These are the real deal!
Absolutely loving the sound and feel of my Modern Tele Set! My installation was a little unusual, and after emailing Frank, he called me and walked me through what I needed to do. Above and beyond. I already knew how good they sound, and equally important, how good they feel and respond. I already had JBEs on another guitar. Highly, highly recommended.
thanks for the great pickups and service, they sound great and no noise. ill buy more for my other basses!!!!!!!!
